 On Birth Certificates and Balderdash
- By Kevin J. Ryan

You know how many of you have said, “Wow, Kevin, you’re so smart.” Well, I’ve also been accused of being crazy. Oddly enough, I usually turn out to be right, so go with your first instinct as you read this.
I'm almost afraid to get into this, but......Today's big headline is the Obama Birth Certificate and Trump smoking the press by getting them to cover his press conference live.
I also know many of you are not supporting Trump for president. My bet is that many of you are Democrats, and vote Democrat, and don't care whether the Republican candidate is Donald Trump, Mortimer Snerd or King Solomon you ain't voting for them. You're rolling with Hillary.
My point today is that I have lost complete faith in the media to tell the truth about anything. I knew they were liberal, but I had absolutely no idea they would throw away any shred of credibility when it came to the election....if I believed even a quarter of what I read about Trump, I'd be voting with you. Fortunately, I do not.
The latest is of course, the birth certificate brouhah. The story from the press is that Trump needs not only to say he believes that Obama was born in America, but he needs to "apologize for keeping the myth going for five years" and he needs to apologize for saying Hillary started the story in the first place.
On CNN, commenter Jake Tapper brought up the topic with Governor Chris Christie. Tapper pointed out, "(Trump) kept up this brither thing until Friday, that's five years." Christie replied, "Jake, that's just not true." To which Tapper then replied, "Yes, it is." No, it isn't, yes it is....it's like listening to five year olds.
If Tapper had his act together, the second Christie denied it, Tapper should have had the exact quote from Trump saying Obama was born in Kenya, and played it on the air....you know why he waited until the interview's last seconds to bring it up and had no quote from Trump? Because Trump NEVER, at any time, ever, said Obama was born in Kenya.
Please, look for that quote, source it, and post it here. You won't find it, it doesn't exist. Oh, you can find as easily as I did a quote where Trump states that there's a story that Obama's grandmother said he was born in Kenya....that story that the grandmother did say it, happens to be accurate. You can find quotes from Trump saying many people believe and have reported that they believe the birth certificate released by the White House is a phoney, which is also accurate. But you will not find Trump saying Obama was born in Africa, because unlike claims made by the New York Times, CNN and many others stating Trump has said this, it just did not happen. They are lying, it's that simple.
What Trump did say is that anyone wanting to be President of the United States needs to produce proof of identity, which I agree with 500%. When challenged to produce his birth certificate, Barack Obama instead produced a short-form "Certification of Live Birth" with a photoshopped background which looks like special legal paper....in reality, the background of such documents are plain white. when challenged on this reproduction, the White House not only ADMITTED it, but Hawaii Department of Health Spokesperson Janet Okubo explained that this was legally the proper form....which is correct. However, this was not and could not have been the original birth certificate, as it contained computer font lettering that did not exist in 1961 at the time of Obama’s birth.
However, we’re not talking about some kid wanting his learner’s permit, we’re talking about a sitting President being challenged on his legal authority to serve...this is all the marbles. For the White House to produce a legally valid but fictional ID for this purpose was highly irresponsible, and they knew it. They did it to muddy the water...those who were pro-Obama would maintain he’d done his due diligence. Those who don’t like Obama or who have actually studied this will say he didn’t, but the media was going to dismiss them as “fringe conspiracies” and “birthers”. This too, was highly biased AND irresponsible.
The White House then released ANOTHER, different birth certificate for Obama, this time, a “long-form” in a format consistent with 1961 standards. It looked like it might actually be the original Barack Obama Birth Certificate....but, again, it wasn’t. How do we know this? Because the White House AGAIN ADMITTED it was not. This time, the issue was the certificate consisted of a nine layer Photoshop manipulation, which the White House said was done “for clarity”. They also insisted the document contained all the original information on the original birth certificate. Perhaps.
Here’s the issue. It doesn’t matter whether Barack Obama was born in Kenya, Hawaii or on the Moon. Twice, the White House was challenged to produce a simple ID and twice, they deliberately released a document which was a computer reproduction.
Here’s the clear, simple truth. As of September 2106, Barack Obama has NEVER, EVER released a copy of his original true birth certificate for public examination. This is reality. Why would anyone do such a thing, you ask? Precisely because many of you still reading think I’m bananas for making the argument....you’ve been told I am. You’ve also been told that others like me who disagree with the official narrative are crazy, racist, and out of our minds. the facts are simple here. If I handed over two deceptive pieces of ID for something as simple as buying a beer, I’d be thrown out of the bar. Obama did it to prove he’s qualified to be President, and Trump is the crazy one.....so goes the story.
Once you know the media has lied to you about the “Birthers”, ask yourself, what else are they lying about? Trump said Mexicans were “rapists”...no, he didn’t. He said that some illegal immigrants are rapists. Trump mocks the disabled. No, he doesn’t. He impersonated a reporter who couldn’t remember having written an article claiming people in New Jersey were seen celebrating 9/11...after the article was shown to him! Trump refused to disavow David Duke, the racist. No, he didn’t. When asked about Duke’s support of his campaign. Trump said he didn’t even know the guy.
Where do I think Barack Obama was born? Doesn’t even matter for the purpose of this story, let’s say the U.S. The point is, look carefully and you may see what that those you think you can rely on for good information, especially when it comes to Donald Trump, are as slippery as a February sidewalk and twice as dangerous.

Bombshell Report Details EVERY Clinton Sex Assault Victim

Roger stone and Robert Morrow are about to release a new report, and the Hillary Clinton campaign is already scared!

The book, entitled The Clintons’ War on Women, goes into graphic detail about Bill Clinton’s decades of sexual assault and alleged rapes. This news could remind voters just how dangerous the Clintons are and spell doom for Hillary’s campaign.

According to the authors, Clinton’s first alleged rape was Eileen Wellstone, at age 19. In England, Clinton sexually assaulted her after they met at a bar near Oxford. Bill Clinton admitted having sex with her but “claimed it was consensual.” The victim’s family didn’t want to pursue the case, and a report filed at the time by a State Department official was ignored by superiors. Apparently, the State Department didn’t want a Rhodes Scholar to have a rape charge.

For 41 years, Hillary Clinton has worked tirelessly to discredit and destroy women like that. Since 1982, she has been hiring private detectives to look into their lives and find anything that could embarrass them. Hillary once told private detective Ivan Duda to give her the name and addresses of all of Bill’s girlfriends, so she could “get rid of all these bitches he’s seeing.”

More than once, Hillary knew about Bill’s rapes as he was committing them: This is the same woman who was allegedly fully aware of Bill’s 1978 alleged rape of campaign volunteer Juanita Broaddrick in real time. As we reveal in The Clintons’ War on Women, according to former Clinton insider Larry Nichols, Hillary came running into the Clinton HQ and said, “You won’t believe what the motherf___r [Bill] just did. He tried to rape some bitch!” That blockbuster quote is just one of many things in the book that the MSM has carefully tried to keep out of your eyesight.

Juanita Broaddrick was alleged raped so severely that he nearly tore off her upper lip, then raped her a 2nd time. Reportedly, Bill’s words were before he started the crime, “My God, I can do it again.”

Wealthy Cruz and Bush Donors Dump Millions Into Hillary Clinton’s Campaign

That didn’t take long.

Cruz donor James Simons, who donated over a million dollars to Ted’s failed campaign, has begun pouring millions into Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Bush family donors are also donating to Hillary Clinton – the only establishment candidate left in the race.
The Observer reported:

Renaissance Technologies, a hedge fund founded by billionaire James Simons, donated over $13 million to Sen. Ted Cruz’s failed presidential campaign. For a guy who’s supposed to be pretty smart with his money, the ROI on that one has got to sting. Nevertheless, now that Mr. Cruz is out of the race, Mr. Simons has begun pouring millions of dollars into Hillary Clinton‘s campaign, with Renaissance Technologies donating over $2 million to Ms. Clinton so far this election cycle. Euclidean Capital—also owned by Mr. Simons—has given the Clinton campaign over $7 million in contributions, and such figures are likely to increase as Ms. Clinton slowly transitions her attention from Democratic Primary opponent Bernie Sanders to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

Mr. Simons isn’t the only wealthy donor making the move. A number of deep-pocketed elite have given up trying to buy off Republican politicians in order to support Ms. Clinton—the only establishment-friendly candidate of either party remaining in the race. In response, the Clinton campaign has assembled a group dubbed “Republicans for Hillary” to reach wealthy GOP donors. Ms Clinton not only shares over 60 of the same donors with the former Republican candidate Jeb Bush but is also making new efforts to court additional Bush family donors, according to a recent Politico report. more

DOJ Wants to Hide the Names of Illegal Aliens Granted Amnesty

The Justice Department is resisting a judge’s order to provide ethics training for its lawyers and is objecting to turning over to the court the names of illegal aliens who were granted what amounts to administrative amnesty (“deferrals”) in stark violation of an injunction issued by the court.
On May 19, Judge Andrew Hanen of the of the Southern District of Texas issuedan order imposing sanctions on the Justice Department and its lawyers for unethical conduct, which included repeatedly lying to him in court.
U.S. v. Texas is the immigration lawsuit filed by 26 states against the Obama administration over its plan to provide deferrals, work permits, and other government benefits to almost 5 million illegal aliens. Hanen issued a preliminary injunction in February 2015 preventing implementation of the plan.
His decision was upheld by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and the case is currently before the U.S. Supreme Court. more

Reflections from a #Benghazi rooftop

Picture
As the story unfolds about the heroism of the diplomatic security and contract officers (conservative report declines using names out of respect to safety) who were gravely wounded, one even losing his leg in the second wave of fighting, the debacle has now simply been dubed "Benghazi". The general public deserves to know the excperience of these men, and their colleagues Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

But to totally appreciate what this unnamed ARSO (Assistant Regional Security Officer) endured on that lonely rooftop, so far from home, let’s look back at what he had done just before, starting after supper at the CIA Compound just down the street.

After a state dinner was held, where the Turkish General Counsel was hosted by Ambassador Chris Stevens, a not so unexpected terrorist attack began. At that time, there were five ARSO’s who held their post against an estimated 60 terrorists. Read More

Switchback Domain For Sale    8.27.15
Picture
Do you feel like owning a piece of the most popular brewery in Burlington,VT? Recently spotted on the Godaddy.com website of premium domain listings for sale is switchbackbrewery.com!

I spoke with social media guru Scott Walter the proprietor of said domain name and he dished some inside scoop.  “Like many Vermonters I really love the original unfiltered brew so I picked up the name back in 2007. ” “I wanted to work with Bill Cherry and the gang to grow their ‘at the time’ non-existent online presence.”  “They didn’t have any plans for that aspect of the business and techies they are not.”  “No tours, no merchandise and I had visions of them being the next Ben and Jerry’s.“  “That never quite panned out.” “Switchback used a Facebook page for a while and upgraded to an alternate naming convention in 2014.”  “Bill and I started negotiating a year or so ago on transferring the domain and that conversation stalled.” “I haven’t heard a peep from their camp since.”

“I have three different appraisals based on the current state and projected growth of the company and chose the middle figure as a starting point.” “That’s figure not finger (laughs).”  “I’m not squatting on the name, I don’t pick up domains for the heck of it.”  “If I like a product, it’s available and I believe I can substantially help them grow their business then it’s a consideration.”  “I’ve kept this under wraps hoping to work out a deal with Bill.” “Present a reasonable offer and it’s yours for the taking.”

Well, there ya’ have it folks.  Anyone looking to pick up a very hot ticket in the Queen City just needs to head  over to  Godaddy.com or contact Scott directly.  As popular as the beer is on campus, I envision  UVM frat boys passing around the hat for the rights to the name.   The price listed on the website is 5K but apparently Mr. Walter is willing to negotiate.

For a recap:

1- Freddie Gray and his twin sister just had a large lawsuit dismissed because they failed to show up for a court date.
2- DA Mosby knew this and ordered police to monitor the very intersection where Freddie Gray hung out selling drugs and issued a threat to police of daily monitoring for not making drug arrests.
3- DA Mosby knew Freddie Gray and instructed him to run so he would be arrested.
4- Freddie was known to fake resisting arrest so it wouldn’t look like he cooperates with police and was not a snitch and tried to fake an injury that he knew would be video taped.
5- He was a snitch because the cops trusted him so much to let him have freedom to move about the van and didn’t strap him down. It’s possible the 3 cops were ordered not the restrain him in the van by Mosby.
6- Freddie wanted another lawsuit to get a big paycheck for free and Mosby was in on it.
7- Wanting another lawsuit, having freedom to move about and with the help of DA Mosby he started bashing parts of his neck on the unpadded metal bench seat edge to get a police brutality lawsuit going.
8- He damaged himself so badly that he died a couple of days later.
9- DA Mosby is doing anything she can to prosecute the police officers in the media to and to keep any evidence hidden.

Gays Coming  Around?   4.10.15

While the racial divide is clearly trumped up daily by our President and his DOJ sidekick and not nearly as big as the left’s own appetite for hatred. A lightening rod issue like gay marriage is being settled at the state levels as it should be. Gays tend to have higher incomes on average, so many are primed to be fiscal conservatives. As the states continue to tweak marriage and civil union laws, I imagine many more gays will flow into the GOP.

In a country where so many elections are 51-49, a group that makes up 2% of the country could make a HUGE difference!

Conservatives own both state houses and governor seats in thirty two states. They are getting things done that all Americans approve of like fixing budgets. Coastal dwellers like Cher won’t soon figure that out and like much of Hollywood, will continue to look out of touch.

President Obama could’ve had Harry Reid propose simple legislation that would’ve acknowledged gay marriage on the 1040 for those states that presently recognize it. Boom, they get the deduction as well as the child credits etc. and the flood gates open.  A logical and fiscally significant act. No argument about marriage, just recognition of what some states already have in place.

With their higher level of education and fiscal awareness it’s inevitable that while socially gays  ride on the liberal side of the tracks, their wallets scream for financial stability and accountability. Big government equals bigger waste. The pendulum is already swinging and this is a game changer.

Caps, Is it your time?    4.28.15

Picture
From 1962 to 1983 only five teams won the Stanley Cup and they include Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Philadelphia and the New York Islanders. I call this twenty-two year span the semi-modern era as it’s the last time during which any team ever won four consecutive titles. Multiyear dominations include Toronto’s three from ‘62 to ‘64, the Canadians in ‘65, ‘66, ‘68 and ‘69 and the ‘74, ‘75 Fliers .  Lest we not forget the four-year phenom’s with Montreal hoisting Lord Stanley from ‘76 to ‘79 and the Islanders likewise from ‘80 to ‘83. The same programs monopolized hockey’s upper echelon year after year.   Was this due to the general manager’s determination, a talented coach’s ability, a hot goalie, outstanding scorer or a defensive stalwart? Likely it was a combination of the aforementioned.  So then what role does the legacy of success play in hockey?  If any, it’s diminishing.

From 1989 to 2014 no team won the cup more than two consecutive years, although the Edmonton Oilers did win  four times in five years from 1984 to 1988.  Other than the Detroit Red Wings no team has been in the cup finals for more than two consecutive years.  Is the playing field, err skating surface smoother today league-wide?

How else could some of the newcomers such as the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes so quickly established themselves by winning the sport’s biggest series?  The Washington Capitals management would surely like to know.  By doing so in such a short amount of time their example has breathed new life as well as a much broader fan base into the sport.  It  has also have fresh legs to teams who have never won the ultimate trophy before, opportunity is knocking.  The Yankees, I mean Canadians aren’t going to win every year.  Maybe this year is a bad example to speak such nonsense as they likely will win, but you get my drift. So, Minnesota and Washington, are you listening?

Bibi Speaks

Picture
LIVE Tuesday, Mar 03 10:45am EST on CSPAN
“Never has so much been written about a speech that has not been given,”  said Bibi Netanyahu.  I hope Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech sets new records on CSPAN .  He has insight and vitally important information to offer the United States.  While the Democrats and Black Caucus are making complete fools of themselves with their dog and pony show concerning how the President wasn’t consulted on the matter, I’d like you to consider the following.

1)  This is foremost about the US easing sanctions on Iran and allowing them to become a nuclear power. DO NOT lose focus of that point!!!

2) Would President Obama ever invite Netanyahu on his own accord?  With 100% certainty I offer “Are you kidding, never!”

3) Congress is an EQUAL branch of the US Government to that of the Executive Branch, not above it, not below it but beside it. They require no approval from the President. Should they have sought his opinion, see #2.

4) Does Nuclear Iran make the world a safer place?

Obama is pouting like the head honcho of the bully clique on a sixth grade playground when the new kid shows up. No pun intended but I suppose that’s ‘Par for the course’.

Last week, Obama's national security adviser, Susan Rice, said the partisanship caused by Netanyahu's looming address was "destructive to the fabric of U.S.-Israeli ties". How desperate has this administration become?

The democrat’s justification, ‘Breach of Protocol’ is the sound bite response.  It’s comforting to know they are as outspoken on topics like immigration and health care when it comes to legitimate illegalities.  Truth is, this republican tactic is timely, vitally important and utterly unanticipated by Barry’s machine. Good things come in threes!

Watch the speech, talk about it, flood twitter with your opinion, write your congressman and take note of who doesn’t show up.

What’s so bad about Obama?  ~ Drew Cissel     2.17.15

Have you ever been asked, “I know you don’t like Obama, but seriously – what’s he done that is so bad?”  Of course, Obamacare and immigration amnesty come quickly to mind, but there are so many other transgressions that it sometimes becomes difficult to know where to begin.

Mark Levin, aptly nicknamed The Great One, gave an outstanding list of grievances addressed directly to the Emperor President at the 2015 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).  While Mr. Levin’s list is by no means exhaustive, it gives an excellently articulated summary.

1.       Mr. Obama, you have violated the separation of powers, which is the core of our Constitutional system, to empower yourself and impose your radical agenda by fiat and regulation in defiance of free elections and against the will of the people.

2.       Mr. Obama, you've seized unto yourself legislative power granted to Congress alone by ignoring laws, rewriting laws, and making laws - and then boasting about your usurpations.

3.       Mr. Obama, you've unilaterally appropriated monies to fund your radical agenda in violation of Congress's power of the purse.

4.       Mr. Obama, you've contravened Congress's authority over immigration and naturalization, eviscerating existing immigration laws and American Sovereignty - endangering the well being of the American people in blatant pursuit of self-serving political agendas.

And may I add here - We're not a 'nation of immigrants.'  We're a nation of citizens - a nation of immigrants who BECOME citizens.  But we are a nation of citizens and I am sick and tired of the American Citizen being demeaned and treated as a second class citizen, while anybody who crosses the border is treated as the most virtuous human being on the face of the Earth.

5.       Mr. Obama, you repeatedly defied the Senate's confirmation power over your appointments, requiring intervention by the Supreme Court to stop you.

6.       Mr. Obama, in coordination with the previous Senate Majority Leader, you have poisoned the independence of the Judiciary by appointing scores of radical activists to lifetime judicial appointments at the District and Circuit Court levels to insure your unconstitutional actions are everlasting.

7.       Mr. Obama, you have repeatedly evaded the Senate's role in the adoption of treaties, which require 2/3 approval, by refusing to submit such arrangements for consideration, calling them 'executive agreements.'

8.       Mr. Obama, you've shown nothing but contempt for the Bill of Rights, including the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Tenth Amendments.

9.       Mr. Obama, you've shown nothing but contempt for private property and free market capitalism, evidenced by among other things, your nationalizing the Internet, the banks, the student loan industry, without any Constitutional authority.

10.   Mr. Obama, you've nationalized and destroyed the greatest private healthcare system on the face of the Earth, to the great detriment of tens of millions of American Citizens.

11.   Mr. Obama, you have recklessly destroyed the fiscal well-being of this nation with wild spending schemes, driving up the federal operating debt to 18.5 trillion dollars, and unfunded liabilities to over 100 trillion dollars - thereby threatening the liberty and prosperity of future generations, and the survivability of this country.

12.   Mr. Obama, you have directed federal departments and agencies such as the EPA to unleash thousands of regulations which you concealed until after both of your Presidential elections, which have driven millions of Americans out of work, shuttered thousands of businesses; and you have pursued economic policies that have driven the median income of Americans down, and forced millions of people onto food stamps, Medicaid, and disability insurance.

13.   Mr. Obama, you've used the Office of the Presidency in language and actions to divide and vulcanize the American people on race, gender, age, and income; and excite jealousies, animosities, and hatred for political advantage.

14.   Mr. Obama, while massively increasing domestic spending, you have shown contempt; and pursuit of policies which undermine our Military personnel and readiness, and the security of this nation.

15.   And Mr. Obama, you have failed to take the necessary and effective steps to confront Islamic Nazism and increasingly belligerent regimes in communist China and fascist Russia.  And you have undermined our friend Israel to the detriment of our security.  You have undermined our friend Israel while appeasing our enemy in Iran.

Mark Levin – CPAC 2015

I used to refer to Obama as a “failed President.”  I now realize that to call this man Obama a failed President is like calling Jeffrey Dahmer a failed nutritionist.  It doesn’t begin to identify the damage, pain, and misery Obama and the Democrats have deliberately wrought on our country in so many ways and on so many levels.

And it needs to be stopped.

When it came to the Keystone pipeline his response was "never gonna happen". When it came to healthcare and the Supreme Court ruling and we asked for flexibility in establishing market based healthcare he said "you should start a state exchange". Perspective

Here is something I've found generally in life, having lived 58 years in many countries, and in my adopted home of the United States, in many states: Liberals who believe that America is bad, that it's not a good place to be, that it's unfair and racist, carry that same negativity in what they do in their lives, with their wives, husbands, children, jobs, etc. It was the uber-liberals at work who kept saying "I don't make enough," "The boss isn't fair," "No one sees how good I am," etc.  More

                              Milne Wins

In two and possibly three out of three scenarios, Scott Milne becomes the next Governor of Vermont.

None of the three candidates acquired the plus 50% vote needed to secure the victory, so if Milne doesn't concede, which apparently he isn’t going to, it is turned over to the Vermont Legislature to determine the victor.  Now what isn't quite as clear is the process they undertake to achieve said result.

Scott could and should ask for a recount.  We may find a smidgen of fraudulent activity such as unregistered and or nonliving voters, but my guess is the current count won’t be significantly altered.  We can talk voter id another time. With a race this close and of this magnitude, it’s silly not to seek a recount.

If the legislature votes according to their constituents desires regardless of party affiliation, Milne takes home the cake whether by county 9-5 (Politico)  or by district 79-71 (Dame Research).

A win for Peter Shumlin occurs only if the legislature toes the party line by reason of the overall popular vote, assuming no monumental shift occurs should a recount take place.

So while Shumlin arrogantly and very prematurely announced his victory, I believe the better educated Vermonters become on this issue, the clearer their vision of picturing Scott Milne as the next governor will become.   It’s a wonderfully diversionary tactic by Shummy, but I don’t think it will pan out this time around. Those legislators who justify their party line vote over the will of their constituents will have to answer for that in the next election cycle. That’s powerful ammunition with which to arm an adversary.  Will they opt to win the battle and lose the war?

What is Peter Welch concerned about?  Is Mark Donka the underdog that could steal this year’s election?  I reached out to Mark Donka’s campaign manager Scott Walter inquiring about the supposed debate offer the Welch Camp turned down?   Scott said, “It’s true, they flat out declined our offer.” “The ritual on the Congressional debate trail hinders voters from developing issue clarity so we reached out to Peter and offered a 1 on 1 debate”. “In no disrespect to the other candidates, our poll numbers indicated it’s clearly a two horse race and we wanted to do the public a service”.  “We sought a time table with the Charlie, Ernie and Lisa show and then offered two dates to the Welch Camp”.  “They returned a call to me saying Peter was busy those two days.”  “I interpreted this as an apparent dodge so I called their bluff”.  “Can Peter spare an hour anytime over the next two weeks I inquired?”  “Check with your folks and let me know." "I got no reply in any form whatsoever, complete radio silence”.

With Obama’s numbers tanking, the list of scandals too numerous to cover in a single article, Vermont Health connect on the skids, rocketing property taxes it’s easy to see why Peter Welch might want to avoid any  direct confrontation with Mark Donka. Peter is running a ‘hey I’m Vermont’s best buddy’ under the radar campaign with the liberal press tossing out  meaningless scraps sans any substance of info on a daily basis.   Donka states, “Congressman Welch is a rubber stamp for Obama and once the GOP takes the Senate on Nov 4th he’ll be quite ineffective.”

Mark continues, “Who has a 15% approval rate and keeps their job, not you or I?” How long is too long to get a job done?  “If you’re unable to set and execute an agenda in eight years, it’s time to try something else.”  “This job was meant as a civic duty, to serve the people and not to be a career with health benefits and a bloated retirement pension.”  We’re 18 trillion dollars (T R I L L I O N)  in debt and my advice is to vote out any member of congress who have been at the table of gluttony for eight years or more regardless of party affiliation.”  This isn’t only a one party problem, it’s both shamefully and wastefully abusing the power of politics. “Step one of the solution is to turn up the heat and churn rate to ten! “

Are you surprised he turned down your invitation I asked Mark?, ” No, but it says a lot about his character and belief in his party’s agenda whose lack of preparation and execution is saddling future generations with unfathomable hardship.”   “Like hiking, the mountain should be in better shape when you leave having enjoyed its invigorating beauty along the way.” “ If politicians followed this simple creed, America’s future would be so much more promising."

A Green Mountain Gubernatorial Dilemma
10.31.2014

I'd like to carefully begin a conversation here. I have been planning to vote early, just to get it out of the way. But I haven't yet decided whether to vote for Scott Milne or Dan Feliciano.

Personally, I think Dan is the better candidate. I'm also REALLY unhappy with Milne's statements about consolidating schools. As it stands, however, do I think Dan can get the most votes? I'm sorry to say that I am skeptical. Despite my desire for everyone to vote for the "best candidate", the reality is that both Milne and Shumlin will get a significant number of votes just because of the party they belong to.

On the other hand, would Scott Milne make a better governor than Peter Shumlin? I have no doubt that he would. But like so many times before, I do NOT want to vote for Milne--just because he's the Republican candidate.

If nothing changes, I will vote for Dan Feliciano. But I haven't voted yet, because I'm holding out hope that SOMETHING will change! In order for that to happen, WE HAVE TO MAKE SOMETHING CHANGE.

So, here are some possible changes:

Scott Milne drops out of the race -- I don't see it, but it's possible if he sees that he has no chance of winning.

Dan Feliciano drops out of the race -- This would be sad, but if Dan shows enough solid support, the GOP might give him a prominent place in the party or a Milne administration. (How about Health Care Reform Czar?) There have already been some gestures in this direction. If I were Dan, I would hold out for something VERY solid.

The only thing that I can think of that might drive either of these possibilities would be to somehow count our votes PRIOR to the election.

There are all kinds of polling capabilities on the internet. A doodle poll comes to mind. What would this group think about promoting a poll to find out where we stand?

Big Change needed to combat 'Obamadebt'
10.10.2014

The nature of politicians is to spend more and more with little regard to results by any means of measure wasting billions of tax payer's dollars. Raising taxes feeds their power addiction and supports their dysfunction. Higher taxes takes money out of circulation in the private sector which means fewer jobs, less innovation, a smaller economy and less money collected in taxes, state and federal.  Anyone who ascribes to the ‘more taxes’  solution with the fiscally irresponsible and completely reckless government that is currently in place needs a psychiatric evaluation. It's a whimsically shallow response completely lacking in substance to a rather complex issue. Our greatest crisis is the quality of leadership across all parties and facets in Washington; Moral integrity has left the building.

As a nation we are facing multiple serious issues that require timely and effective bipartisan solutions. Our current system of "Career Politicius" is not capable of that. It's time for...wait for it, term limits. "Oh God not this again"!  I suggest the President and Senators serve one term for six years and the House be limited to a single four year term. Too much energy, time and money is spent on their key objective, getting reelected.  But wait there's more! Supreme Court Justices have no immunity; to them I say twelve years and out! We need humble, wise, responsible, servant leaders who are in touch with reality to focus on the critical issues facing our nation.

However, the conundrum is like a trifold wallet.  Our Congress has an approval rating of 16% yet nearly 80% of the population doesn’t give a hoot about politics, it’s downstream from their care-factor. It’s boring, hard to follow and the media has done nothing but obfuscate facts, tout  its personal agenda and lie outright. Retractions are hard to come by and slid in just prior to the last commercial break.  With more digital toys of diversion creeping steadily into the homestead, the number of engaged is unlikely to change.  Congress surely doesn’t have the will power or intestinal fortitude to impose any reasonable self-governing measures and why should they, we’re the enablers! So how will these objectives be met?

First you need to drop your party hat, stop bickering over the minutiae and realize the issues are much MUCH bigger than Roe vs Wade.  Next, organize to vote out the career politicians (Use two term senators and three term house reps as a reference point) regardless of affiliation.  If politicians are less likely to be influenced from outside sources and their time is spent as it should be, providing a service that produces positive and measurable results, then real priorities can be set, focused on and obtained.  Is it that simple?  I'm uncertain but it's a really good start!

Incompetence or Intent
10.10.2014

"I continue to receive along my travels is, “do you believe what Obama is doing is based upon incompetence or intention?” I carefully consider the inquiry and search for trends to analyze and assess, and this is not incompetence — this is the intentional agenda of a progressive socialist who is an Islamist sympathizer dedicated to fundamentally transforming America."

"These are not mistakes, missteps or misspeaking. This is the desire of a narcissistic collectivist ideologue whom hapless Americans allowed to be created, foolishly elected and then stupidly reelected. The question is, are we too far gone to turn back? Perhaps we’ll know in about 26 days." ~Allen West

Fit for a Stooge
10.8.2014

The Burlington Free Press’ Gubernatorial debate was simply an embarrassment to the free press, the city of Burlington and frankly the entire state of Vermont.   From the plastic Lancaster lunch tables sans even a simplistic covering to the constant web interruptions, the debate (with a peak of 75 listeners) was an utter failure and complete waste of time.  If Governor Peter Shumlin had been in charge he would have shut the site down until after the election.  It was impossible to get any substantive read on the candidates or follow the ebb and flow of debate issues with the constant distractions.  It’s a sad day for the free press when the most informative info came from the twitter account of @asoga who was doing his best to run cover for the failed event.  @BrianPardy also tweeted: Free Press web techs busy rewriting their resume to reapply for their current job, can't be arsed to bother

It had all the pomp and circumstance of a 7th grade middle school debate.  Between  the leering and dodging of 'Financial Houdini' Shumlin, Peter ‘Mad Eye Moody’  Diamonstone’s off-mic cackling and Stammering Scott Milne’s chorus of Umm and ahhs, this was tack-in-the-eye painful to ‘attempt’ to watch.  I say attempt in honor of all the IP Jitter and dropped packets making it impossible to know if Mo, Larry or Curly  came away the victor.  I was sure at some point one of the semi-prepared and mostly audible moderators would hurl a spitball at the candidates.

This is what Vermont has to offer?  The largest print rag in the state puts on this type of event befit for the future Governor?  It was quite the coming-out party for its highly touted new web site.  Folks are already disinterested in politics.  I’m glad the Free Press offered up a plethora of room-temperature nausea on a silver platter so potential voters could continue their steady diet.

PS. Where was Dan Feliciano?

Money Bomb Math
10.2.2014

The Math and Science behind Mark Donka's Money Bomb.

Between Facebook, twitter and the weekly newsletter, our reach is 1,500 actual unique users. If you multiply that by the twitter factor of (punches double super-secret formula into calculator) the reach is upwards of 427,000 people, taking into account  duplicate accounts, low volume users, crossover traffic and followbackers.  In attempting to raise 25K dollars in twenty for hours, (maybe we should rename it '24 in 24') we need 1,250 folks to donate $20.00.  Based on historical algorithms, reaching the midpoint number should be attainable.  We must rely on word of mouth by energetic influencers to generate the remaining interest.

Please pass this along to folks who wish to see a Conservative win in Vermont.  Together let’s #unblue the state! #4donka

Democrats:  The Party of Division – Part 2:  Black vs White
9.20.104

Previously, we talked about how the Democrats have effectively utilized their Divide and Conquer strategy to promote division and resentment among specific groups of American people in an attempt to rile the citizenry into voting with their emotions rather than their intellect.  We discussed how Democrats continually accuse Republicans of waging a “war on women,” an allegation that was easily deconstructed.

Another way that liberal Democrats sew division and resentment among the American people is by continuing to fan the flames of racism at each and every opportunity.   Democrats accuse Republicans of racism whenever they voice any criticism of President Obama or his policies - and by doing so they intentionally embitter minorities against “White Republicans.”  One of MSNBC’s louder hosts, Chris Matthews as recently as last year made the ludicrous claim that Republicans’ attempts to repeal Obamacare were all driven by racism.   As if nobody could reasonably object to a 2700 page law that turns our nation’s healthcare system upside-down, bolsters an already bloated IRS, and gives big brother government an unprecedented reach into our personal lives.

Then there is the Tea Party.  A grass roots movement that has been very successful in injecting genuine Conservative thought back into the Republican Party.  Incensed at the Tea Party’s success, liberals fired up their ever-reliable media machine and began cranking out propaganda portraying the Tea Party as nothing but a bunch of racists who want to restore Jim Crow laws.  There were countless memes that showed pictures of Tea Party rallies in which the protest signs were easily altered with Photoshop to show racially offensive epithets and slurs.   And of course, being conservative, they oppose nearly everything Obama stands for, which the Democrats insist is “further proof” of racism.   To set the record straight, here are the Tea Party’s 15 Non-Negotiable Core Beliefs:

1.     Illegal aliens are here illegally.
2.     Pro-domestic employment is indispensable.
3.     A strong military is essential.
4.     Special interests must be eliminated.
5.     Gun ownership is sacred.
6.     Government must be downsized.
7.     The national budget must be balanced.
8.     Deficit spending must end.
9.     Bailout and stimulus plans are illegal.
10.   Reducing personal income taxes is a must.
11.   Reducing business income taxes is mandatory.
12.   Political offices must be available to average citizens.
13.   Intrusive government must be stopped.
14.   English as our core language is required.
15.   Traditional family values are encouraged.

I don’t see any of these core beliefs approaching any topics of race or gender.  And so yet again, we have the Democrats deliberately misrepresenting the purpose and intentions of Conservative Republicans in a way that puts two groups of Americans at odds with each other.

It seems that there are little to no GOP based initiatives that Liberals won’t feel free to attack as either racist or sexist.  It’s pretty much their go-to strategy.  Take Voter ID laws for example.  The concept is very simple.  Voting is an extremely important privilege that’s granted only to American citizens.  It’s our collective voice that chooses which candidates will take office, and which ideologies will ultimately hold sway.  Naturally, it invites corruption on the part of dishonest entities who want to stack the deck one way or the other.

You would think that both parties would consider it in their best interests to insure that only American Citizens can vote and only vote once.  However, when red states implement laws that require voters to present a picture ID, the Democrats balk at this, claiming of all things that it is “racist,” as if to suggest that African Americans can’t get a photo ID and such laws will exclude them from voting at the polls.  Here is a list of 15 things that currently require a photo ID:

1.     Purchase alcohol
2.    Purchase cigarettes
3.    Open a bank account
4.    Apply for Food Stamps
5.    Apply for Welfare
6.    Apply for Medicaid or Social Security
7.    Apply for a job or unemployment
8.    Buy/rent a house or apply for a mortgage
9.    Drive, buy, or rent a car
10.  Get on an airplane
11.   Get married
12.  Rent a hotel room
13.  Buy a cell phone
14.  Pick up a prescription
15.  Buy an “M” rated video game

All of these actions require a photo ID and yet we’re to believe that requiring a photo ID for our most important civic duty is somehow racist?  That anyone could keep a straight face while making this claim is amazing.

There’s a new liberal catch-phrase that is gaining popularity:  White Privilege.  Liberals are further agitating the waters of racial unrest by suggesting that simply being born white carries privileges that other minorities are denied.  Privileges like not being judged by our color, or not being looked at fearfully in a dark alley.  Liberals in universities actually thought it was a good idea to count the number of blacks vs whites in prisons across America, and compare it with census demographics and when the numbers didn’t match up, they claimed that more blacks are in jail than whites because of “white privilege.”   This helps keep the lines of racial division strong by angering whites and embittering blacks.   There is no positive side to this propaganda.  There’s no solution offered that supposedly repairs the “problem.”  It’s strictly a means to keep racism alive and well so that Democrats can continue to exploit it.The Republican message to blacks is, “If you’re tired of being continuously patronized and want to be treated as respectable individuals rather than traumatized victims – come on over.  Color doesn’t matter to us.”

The Democratic message to blacks is, “Whites are still privileged.  They still hate you.  Doesn’t that make you angry?”

Democrats: the Party of Division – Part 1: Men vs Women 9.16.2004

One of the most effective tools Democrats have used to win elections is the strategy of Divide and Conquer.  Their prolific propaganda promotes division and resentment among specific groups of American people in an attempt to rile the citizenry into voting with their emotions rather than their intellect.  Today we’re going to examine one aspect of this deplorable strategy which attempts to promote the idea that Republicans are mostly comprised of misogynistic and bigoted men who are against women.

When I hear the phrase “War on Women,” I can’t help but picture top RNC strategists huddled in their war room discussing plans for winning the next election.  “I’ve got a great idea,” one guy says.  “This brainstorm will guarantee our success not only in this election but those in years to come!  You ready?  Okay, here it is.  LET’S WAGE A WAR ON WOMEN!!”  As ridiculous as that scenario seems, it’s essentially what Democrats would have the country believe.  That Republicans want to win elections by deliberately alienating half of the voting population.

Of course, Democrats wouldn’t put it that way.  They just take a few social issues in which Republicans and Democrats disagree and distort them by deliberately misrepresenting the GOP’s intentions.  Then, with considerable help from the mainstream media, they artificially inflate them to the status of “key issues.”  In this way Democrats have successfully controlled what key issues are talked about, rather than to focus on the issues they don’t want the American people talking about, like the economy, the national debt, the threat of Islamic terror, etc.

First and foremost among the issues to which Democrats point in order to support their allegations of GOP misogyny is abortion.  Conservatives have always opposed abortion.  The reasons are plainly obvious.  They believe abortion kills innocent preborn human life.  But liberals will tell you that’s not the reason why conservatives dislike abortion.  They claim it’s because conservatives object to women making “choices.”  But if that were true, then wouldn’t we be hearing conservatives objecting to women making choices that don’t relate to reproduction?  Choices like what career to pursue or how to diversify their investment portfolios, or which school is better for their kids.  Women make choices all the time without any obstruction or objection from conservatives.

But when anybody, man or woman, makes a “choice” to terminate a human life, well that’s going to raise a red flag for those who place value on human life, no matter what stage of development.  Many conservatives believe that life begins at conception, and hence, since abortion terminates an innocent human life, they believe it qualifies as murder.  Pro-Lifers believe that’s where anybody’s freedom of choice derails – at the point where other lives are at stake.   It’s tantamount to a convicted murderer complaining, “How dare you infringe on my right to choose whom I will kill??!!”

Of course, not everybody agrees that life starts at conception, and perhaps that’s something over which we can honestly and intellectually disagree.  What’s inarguable is that the motivation for Pro-Lifers to oppose and protest abortion directly relates to their belief that abortion is murder.  Yet liberals will insist that’s all wrong – that those who oppose abortion are all “old white men” who hate women and are “anti-choice.”   Seriously, when you take a good look and break down the liberal arguments, they are appallingly disingenuous, and so transparently rooted in political manipulation.  And this is just one of many strategies carefully designed to foster animosity and resentment on the part of women towards men.

Another more recent issue that liberals point to as would-be evidence of the GOP’s war on women deals with a provision in the Affordable Care Act that mandates healthcare insurance providers to cover birth control contraception.  The Catholic Church, among others objected to this mandate because since the Vatican II Council, birth control has been considered a sin.  Concerned conservatives naturally objected to religious organizations being forced by the state to support things that go against their religion.

Liberals responded to this objection with their trademark feigned outrage, claiming that conservatives are trying to push their religious values on the rest of the country.   Once again we have a deliberate misrepresentation of the nature of our objections, just like with the issue of abortion. Conservative church groups were not trying to ban birth control from the population.  They simply objected to religious organizations and businesses being forced by the state to provide that which goes against their well-established religious beliefs.  The liberal rhetoric was toned in such a way as to suggest that without this mandate, women would be left out in the cold with no option for birth control whatsoever.  Yet prior to the ACA, women procured their own birth control and other forms of contraception easily, for decades, for as little as $15 a month.  Now all of the sudden, we’re expected to believe that if people continue to have to pay for their own contraception, that has somehow become a cruel, burdensome hardship.  Sure.

When Hobby Lobby won the Supreme Court case that ruled that closely held businesses were exempt from the contraceptive mandate, the left were fit to be tied.  Their propaganda machine kicked into high gear and began cranking out some of the most mean-spirited and hateful internet memes I’ve ever seen.  Some accused Hobby Lobby of selling products that were made in places that used forced labor, that they weren’t really “Christian,” etc.  Their reaction demonstrated yet again how strong their sense of entitlement is, and their expectation that the rest of us should follow their lead.

The truth is that Democrats are doing women a grave disservice by continuing to foster the erroneous notion that a woman’s political concerns extend no farther than her uterus.   Quite to the contrary, women are concerned about the economy and the future of their children in an increasingly socialistic Democratic culture that rewards laziness and failure while punishing hard work and success.   The Republican message to women is, “You can be just as competitive and successful as any man if you work hard and apply yourselves.”

The Democratic message to women seems to be, “Don’t worry about the complicated issues of life.  The important thing is your sexual freedom and we Democrats will always support that.”  It seems pretty clear to me which party places a greater value on women and collectively holds women in a more dignified regard.

Dick's Screening for illegals or building a gun-owner database? 9.11.2014

Picture
I just came from Dick's Sporting Goods  in Rutland, VT wanting to buy some ammunition. After the clerk rang up the sale, she said I had to answer these questions on the screen: Are you a citizen of the United States? Are you an illegal alien? What is your date of birth? I said I wasn't going to answer and told her I didn't want the ammunition. The clerk said well get use to it because it's coming. I then asked for the manager and inquired if this was store policy, state law or federal law? She said it was Dick's store policy. I understand that here in VT there is a law not to sell ammunition to anyone under 16, but I think I look a little older than 16 so why bother asking?  The manager said they were offering this as a benefit to their customers and that I could lie about my date of birth. She also said they weren't allowed to sell anything to an illegal alien. So does Dick's ask for citizenship prior to each sale, including clothing, camping supplies, etc.? A benefit to their customers? I told her it was an infringement not a benefit, she just shrugged her shoulders. So what do you think about this?

PS On a side note of public interest: Last year  I went to Dick's  for a hunting license & asked if I needed one to hunted on my own property, the clerk said yes, so I bought one. Later I  called the Fish & Wildlife Dept. from my cell phone and they said no, I didn't need one. I asked, what do I do if I need a tag and the state official said,  just write on a piece of paper the date and place you took the deer and tag it with that. I went back into Dick's and told this same manager what the officer told me. She corrected what their employees were telling the public.

Are Democrats the “party of education” they claim to be?
9.9.2014

The American left prides itself on its so-called “education.”  They consider education to be one of their main core values.  On the surface, it’s an honorable agenda to provide an education to those for whom it would be otherwise unavailable.  It’s also a gallant goal to improve existing educational systems and resources, to prepare young people for the world they must ultimately face.  I think most intelligent people on both sides of the aisle would agree.

But the question arises:  At what point does education become indoctrination?  This is the core issue in which conservatives butt heads with liberals regarding education.  Liberals tend to think of conservatives as anti-education; when the reality is that we are simply anti-indoctrination.  But progressives have difficulty discerning the difference between education and indoctrination.  They are so convinced of the righteousness of their collectivist philosophy that they tend to miscategorize their opinions as “facts,” and their values as “truths.”  This policy allows them to smear anyone who opposes their “facts” and “truths” as embracing “ignorance.”

But conservatives do not embrace ignorance.  Contrary to what’s told on MSNBC, Mother Jones, or Salon, conservatives do value intelligence and education.  We simply object to educational systems that attempt (with alarming success) to impart liberal values on young people.  We believe that it’s the responsibility of parents to shape the values and moral philosophies of their children, not the state.  Liberals on the other hand vehemently oppose such a notion.  They regard children as belonging more to the “community” than to their parents.  Melissa Harris-Perry promotes this collectivist idea on MSNBC:

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3qtpdSQox0

Make no mistake, people.  The American left wing wants your children.  They don’t believe in a simple democracy in which the majority holds sway.  They want to shape tomorrow’s voters today.  They are unbelievably hypocritical.  They hate the idea of churches and religions proselytizing converts, yet they shamelessly practice their own brand of proselytizing. And since it’s under the guise of “education” they insist it’s done regardless of the parents’ wishes.

One example comes in the form of the controversial Common Core State Standards (CCSS).  It’s an attempt by the Obama administration to standardize all educational curriculums for grades K-12, under the guise of “improved and standardized educational practices.”  Like all programs born of left wing thought, there’s the official explanation for its existence, which of course is the goal of improved education.  However many teachers feel that the exemplars from the program are stiff, rigid, and boring for the students.  One teacher criticized the scripted lessons this way:

“Scripting lessons is based on several false assumptions about teaching. They include:

* That anyone who can read a lesson aloud to a class can teach just as well as experienced teachers;

* That teaching is simply the transference of information from one person to another;

* That students should not be trusted to direct any of their own learning;

* That testing is the best measure of learning.

The Mt Rushmore sized elephant in the roach hotel room is this:  With the centralization and scripting of class lessons, a single government bureau can decide what the entire nation of children is being taught on any given day.  That is way too much power and the potential for corruption is off the scales.  And as we’ve seen, the left has no qualms about indoctrinating children.

Folks, there are some scary organizations out there just ready to pour their poison into our kids.  There’s one called ILLUMINATIONS who bill themselves as “a project designed by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and supported by the Verizon Foundation. NCTM serves as a content partner for Thinkfinity, the Verizon Foundation's free online professional learning community, where Illuminations is the primary contributor of resources for teaching and learning mathematics for grades pre-K—12.”

Their idea of a good math lesson is a discussion on whether or not the 2000 election was fair.  Did I mention this was part of their “mathematics” curriculum?  Since when do hanging chads have anything to do with mathematics?   Another “math” lesson focuses on the party affiliations of all the US Presidents throughout history.  Since when does math have anything to do with US history and civics?  This is the cancer that is creeping daily into grade schools across the country.

And it isn’t happening just in grade schools.  Liberal indoctrination is rampant in today’s colleges and universities.  At Rutgers, Condoleezza Rice was called a war criminal by protesting students and faculty. At Smith College, commencement speakers include Rachel Maddow, Gloria Steinem, and Arianna Huffington.  In a poll conducted by UCLA, 63% of college professors identified as liberal while only 12% identified as conservative.  How does that happen?  Well, the conservative students get their degrees and then go out into the working world and make their mark, while the liberal students get their degrees in liberal arts and hang around and become “professors,” where they can afford their lofty liberal ideas and don’t have to survive in a working environment.

A big difference between liberals and conservatives is that liberals feel entitled to spread their ideology, and basically use any and all means to do so.  On Facebook, I see the occasional conservative meme float by, but the liberal memes are excessive in number as well as gall.  Conservatives operate under the assumption that people should decide their ideology themselves.  We’re not compelled to indoctrinate by coercive means.  But we do have a message, and it’s a message that makes sense.   Liberals hate our message of individualism, of personal success, and healthy competition.  They are collectivists who believe that anybody’s personal success was contributed to by the “community.”  Remember Obama’s “You didn’t build that!” speech?   I’m thinking that perhaps it’s time for conservatives to more aggressively and unapologetically engage liberals who float their totalitarian propaganda on social media.

Challenge the BS!

Who says the Republicans shut down the government?
9.5.2014

Remember the government shutdown that took place last year?  Have you noticed that ever since then, the Democrats and the liberal media have successfully pinned the blame of the shutdown squarely on Republicans?  What's even worse is that many Republicans have accepted this blame.  It's as though they all believe there is a giant circuit breaker on Capitol Hill that took the collective Republican membership to switch off while the world listened to the great turbines of the American government wind down.

But is it true?  Did the Republicans shut down the Government?  If not, then was it the Democrats?  Let's take a brief look at what happened, and how events led up to the shutdown.

September 20, 2013 - Republicans have only one chance to defeat Obamacare, by defunding it.  On this day, the House of Representatives, led by Republicans votes in favor of a bill that keeps the government funded up until December 15, but with no funding for Obamacare.

September 24-25 - Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz makes his famous filibuster speech, speaking greatly on the folly of the so-called Affordable Care Act which is anything but affordable.  Cruz's speach encourages his fellow Republicans to not simply roll over and let the Democrats have their way, but to actually stand and fight as they were elected to do, and even if that led to a government shutdown, let the Democrats back down for once.  The speach lasted an impressive 21 hours.

September 27 - The Senate, led by Democrats rejects the bill passed by the House to defund Obamacare, and sends it back to the House.

September 29 - The Republican led House modifies the bill.  It no longer defunds Obamacare but instead delays it's implementation for a year as well as repealing a tax on medical devices.

September 30 - Even with that radically toned down bill, the pouting Democratic Senate Majority still vote it down, refusing to budge even an inch.  That same day, the GOP led House takes one last stab at a compromise, by repealing it's previous demands and instead asking the president require Congress and its staff to pay unsubsidized health insurance costs.  The Democrats in the Senate for the third time in a row, refuse to compromise, and reject the bill.

October 1 - The government is partially shut down, with 800,000 federal employees experiencing a furlough.

Even though the Republican House put three revisions of the bill to the Senate, the Senate Democrats petulantly refused to budge a single inch.  Hence the government was shut down.   It ought to be pretty clear to even the most casual observer that the Republican led House went above and beyond to try and avoid the shutdown; working feverishly on the revisions, while all the Senate Democrats did was to sit on their cans with their fingers hovering over the REJECT button.

And yet, somehow the Republicans end up taking the blame for the shutdown.  How does this happen?  Of course, much of the blame goes to the Democrats.  After all, they had at least three opportunities to prevent the shutdown from occurring.  But today’s Democrats seem endowed with a new breed of arrogance and a sense of entitlement that eclipses all past generations.  Senator Cruz said it best during an interview with the Heritage foundation.

"The Obama White House operates on the assumption Republicans will surrender on every major issue," said Cruz. What he needed were 63 days of Republican activists putting the fear into the party if it didn't defund Obamacare, and great communicators shifting the blame for a shutdown from Republicans to Obama. "If we got to this fight, they ought to be on television every hour of the day, asking: Why is President Obama shutting down your government, because he's so committed to forcing Obamacare on you?"

Today’s Democratic Party operates under the presumption that Republicans, Democrats, and Independents all owe it to posterity to support every initiative of the first black President of the United States, because this is such a “historical” presidency.  Anybody who doesn’t fall in line with this mandate is quickly labeled a “racist.”

Another chunk of the blame goes to the media, who also seems to collectively feel obligated to protect any Democratic in general, and Barack Obama in particular.  During the Bush administration, the mainstream news outlets were constantly airing articles that started with the words, “President Bush receives sharp criticism for __(fill in the blank)__”  You see very few if any examples of this brand of “journalism” aimed at President Obama, despite his administration hosting scandal after scandal, from Benghazi to the IRS, to the NSA, to the southern border.

Finally, it’s my belief that the bulk of responsibility for Republicans receiving the blame lies on the Republicans themselves.  Not that they were guilty of shutting down the government, far from it.  But inasmuch as the Democrats have become emboldened to a point beyond simple arrogance, the Republicans have become shell shocked and timid.   They are collectively traumatized over several issues:  Obama’s win at the election polls, especially for his second term, their inability to derail Obamacare, and their unfair treatment by the mainstream media.  With notable exceptions, the old guard of Republicans are more concerned about their careers than doing what’s best for the American people.  They are worried more about the party’s image than the quality and purity of its message.

We need to vote out the old guard and bring in fresh bodies to the team.  We need visionaries and most of all, great communicators like Ronald Reagan who can effectively communicate the truth – that being conservative is not about being racist, or against women, or wanting to “get in people’s bedrooms.” It’s about fiscal responsibility, peace through strength, and prosperity for all by way of a free market.

Mark Donka Outpaces Major Parties in Social Media
9.2.2014

Picture
With Social Media guru Scott Walter taking over the helm as campaign manager for Mark Donka, the revamped approach is paying big dividends early. After only two months of implementing the new strategy the @markdonka twitter feed has more Klout (51), than any of the major parties including @vtgop, @vtdems or vtlp.org. To boot, he also has more klout than most of the leaders in those groups who have had accounts for years. Klout is a score between 0-100 that indicates your overall  influence.

Five Red State Alliance Minutes with Mr. Walter.

RSA: Did Social Media help you win the primary?

SW: It played a significant role. We have the necessary core applications in place now that help attract major donors and get our message out to democrats, independents as well the conservative base. The are a lot of folks who don't use Social Media so understanding that SM is only one branch of the marketing machine is important.

RSA: What's your secret?

SW: There's a difference between engaging your audience and merely tossing up information that supports your agenda hoping it will stick. Mark can have one on one conversations on twitter and learn so much from both sides of the aisle. Facebook, twitter, youtube and instragram all have very different demographics, cultures and norms, so recognizing the subtleties of each is key.

RSA: Why did the message catch on so quickly?

SW: Mark is a hard working guy with an abundance of character which is obviously resonating soundly with a lot of Vermonters. He's genuine and easy to promote. He's battling every day in the trenches of this great state to make a living and not sitting in a bubble on a hill in total disconnect with 'everydayman'.  It doesn't hurt the current party at the helm is running the ship aground on both the state and federal level.

RSA: Any famous followers?

SW:  We have some heavy hitters in the political realm such as Michelle Malkin (influencer extraordinare), Speaker Boenher and Karl Rove in our network. Jessica Alba and Sarah Palin haven't yet come calling but it's only a matter of time:-)

SW: We just birthed this ship, we have a lot more in store so keep
tuned! Youtube is the next step in our vision platform. For now, pick a venue and climb on board the Donka Express, this train is rolling!

Burlington Election Officials In Hot Water

Burlington is among many districts who side-stepped the law by failing to turn in their voter results (for the GOP US Congress race) to the Secretary of State’s office after the polls closed at 7pm last evening Aug 26th. in the state’s primary election.  Their submission options include web portal, fax or even verbal via the phone said Lori Bjornlund from the Sec. of States office.  Interestingly, all but seven of the districts supplied actual returns to News channel 3, WCAX by admission of the stations own results web site. The Sec. of State’s site ended the night missing the results from thirty-five districts as of 2:35 am.

In the closest three-way primary race in the state’s history, where is The Burlington Free Press, VTdigger, VPR or any other number of county rags on this issue?  Are they asleep at the wheel? I asked Mark Donka his thoughts. “It’s kind of embarrassing for all of them to ignore a major story like this, but I’m not surprised, they like to sweep most GOP issues under the rug.”

All districts are sent Fed Ex priority envelopes so they can overnight the results in addition to the required voting night submissions, so the votes will eventually be officially tallied. You can be sure the Sec. of State will be having discussions with all the violaters.

As many reported, voter turnout was very low so the intent not to report seems curious if not deliberate.  Ward 7 in Burlington, who had an additional school board vote did not report their results and was the only Burlington district in violation.

Will Senning, the director of Elections and Finance at the Sec. of States office was not available last night and has failed to return my call today.

Scott Schrader, Assistant Chief Administrator, responsible for overseeing the election process in Burlington likewise was unavailable and yet to return my call.
** Scott called me around 1:40 PM today and told me all of Burlington's returns had been submitted by 1:35 this am through the State's portal. This presents a possible issue with the state's site and/or means of data collection.

Lori said it could be up to a week before the results are official.

With all but seven districts reported, WCAX unofficially listed Mark Donka as the leader:

U.S. House - Republican

Candidate                                             %                                                            Votes

Mark Donka                                          36                                                          4,298

Donald Nolte                                        31                                                           3,950

Don Russell                                          33                                                           3,666

                                                Precincts reporting:             268 of 275

We have big troubles in the Middle East.  Here is one of the most moving pleas I have ever heard.  As we try and defend the pullout and stand idly by, a genocide is occurring.

Post by Jay Sekulow.

14 Men Died Looking for Deserter Bergdahl

He left his gun, he left his uniform, he left a note and he left his post.
He called from a cell phone the following day to notify his command that he wasn't coming back.  Bowe Berghdal left his brigade that day in June 2009 and should be held accountable.  He is no hero!!

To compound matters, the trading for an American soldier President Obama made I expect will be judged by history as another one of his top blunders. This one having on-going implications for not only military personnel but all US Citizens traveling abroad.

Oh yeah, and he also broke the specific law he himself enacted by not notifying Congress of the impending trade.  He promptly followed that up with a closed door meeting with Senators to explain himself. Doesn't sound very transparent to me.  Bottom line, a law was broken, now what to do?

Col. Olive North stated that the US also paid around five million dollars for the trade.  It looks like they got the dream team and we got the waterboy!

Watch Col. David Hunt tell his story.

Why I wrote Common Core

A teacher told attendees at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics Monday night that he helped write the controversial Common Core education standards to end white privilege.

Dr. David Pook, a professor at Granite State College and chair of the History department at The Derryfield School in Manchester, New Hampshire, argued in favor of Common Core.

“The reason why I helped write the standards and the reason why I am here today is that as a white male in society I am given a lot of privilege that I didn't earn.”

Ironically, the $28,535 per year Derryfield School that Dr. Pook teaches at considers the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) inferior and does not use them on the student body that is 91% white.

Obama's 'Year of Action' fizzles

President Barack Obama's promised "year of action" has "produced very few results, making his sixth year in office singularly ineffective so far," political strategist Karl Rove wrote in a commentary in The Wall Street Journal.

Obama has dallied on the economy, disregarded the debt, been oblivious to government inefficiencies and botched foreign policy, Rove wrote.

This was supposed to be a year of action on tax reform. Yet the White House hasn't even talked to House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp whose panel must constitutionally take the lead on any tax-related legislation, Rove wrote.

The president has taken no action to grow the economy, create jobs or reduce the deficit, according to the GOP strategist.

Obama has complained that Republicans have held him back on raising the minimum wage. "However, the Congressional Budget Office's conclusion that this action would cost 500,000 jobs has even unsettled some House and Senate Democrats," Rove wrote.

A Gasoline Tax Map

In last week’s post about ExxonMobil’s 2013 earnings, I noted that we earned about 5.5 cents for every gallon of gasoline and other petroleum products we refined, shipped, and sold in the United States.

Consider this: The federal and state and local governments collected 40 to 60 cents per gallon in taxes.

The American Petroleum Institute just updated their map showing the combined local, state and federal tax rate in each state as of Jan. 1, when new taxes took effect.

The federal gasoline tax is the same from coast-to-coast –18.4 cents a gallon – which means any variations have been implemented by state and local governments.

The highest gasoline tax in the country is in California, where it now exceeds 70 cents a gallon. Combined with California-specific fuel-blending regulations that drive up refining costs, these taxes help make Golden State gasoline prices the most expensive in the country.

Several other states, such as New York, Connecticut, and Hawaii, are close to California in terms of the fuel-tax burden their residents bear, though none has yet joined in crossing the 70-cent-per-gallon threshold.

I encourage you to study API’s map (click the graphic above to enlarge), or dig into its interactive version for state-and-local-level specifics.

Bill Cosby speaks out, again

They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English.
I can't even talk the way these people talk:
Why you ain't,
Where you is,
What he drive,
Where he stay,
Where he work,
Who you be...
And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.
And then I heard the father talk.
Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.
In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.

People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an Education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.
The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.
These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids.
$500 sneakers for what?
And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.
Where were you when he was 2?
Where were you when he was 12?
Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol?
And where is the father? Or who is his father?
People putting their clothes on backward:
Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?
People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?
What part of Africa did this come from??
We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa .....

I say this all of the time. It would be like white people saying they are European-American. That is totally stupid.
I was born here, and so were my parents and grand parents and, very likely my great grandparents. I don't have any connection to Africa, no more than white Americans have to Germany , Scotland , England , Ireland , or the Netherlands . The same applies to 99 percent of all the black Americans as regards to Africa . So stop, already! ! !
With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap ......... And all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.
We have got to take the neighborhood back.
People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.
We have millionaire football players who cannot read.
We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job.
Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.
We have to start holding each other to a higher standard..
We cannot blame the white people any longer.'

~Dr.. William Henry 'Bill' Cosby, Jr., Ed..D.

Bundy Ranch No-Fly Zone

A no-fly zone (or no-flight zone) is a territory or an area over which aircraft are not permitted to fly. Such zones are usually set up in a military context, somewhat like a demilitarized zone in the sky, and usually prohibit military aircraft of a belligerent nation from operating in the region. Aircraft that break the no-fly zone may be shot down, depending on the terms of the NFZ.

There are several types of no-fly zones or special use airspace designations, e.g., restricted, prohibited, MOA (military operations areas) etc. The situation concerning the airspace over the Bundy Ranch is known as a TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) issued by the FAA.  They then release a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) of the occurrence. If you read the NOTAM below you will note this  includes a specific radius of coverage and below 3000 FT AGL (Above Ground Level).

Here is the official NOTAM:

FDC 4/1687 ZLA NV..AIRSPACE MESQUITE, NV..TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS WITHIN AREA DEFINED AS 3NM RADIUS OF 364624N/1141113W (MMM71 RADIAL AT 4.3NM) SFC-3000FT AGL LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATION. PURSUANT TO 14 CFR SECTION 91.137(A)(1) TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS ARE IN EFFECT. ONLY RELIEF AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS UNDER DIRECTION OF BLM ARE AUTHORIZED IN THE AIRSPACE. BLM TELEPHONE 702-335-3191 IS IN CHARGE OF ON SCENE EMERGENCY RESPONSE ACTIVITY. LOS ANGELES /ZLA/ ARTCC TELEPHONE 661-265-8205 IS THE FAA COORDINATION FACILITY. 1404112140-1405111434
